Long Range Hustle
Long Range Hustle
If you’re new to a Long Range Hustle show, it only takes a minute to feel howtheir contagious energy connectswith everyone in the room. From a sweat soaked club to a breezy festival stage, Long Range Hustle brings the warm infectious melodies, driving rhythms, and gorgeous harmonies, in spades.A mix of high school and summer camp counsellor tenures brought the core of this southern Ontario five-piece together -Paul Brogee (vocals, guitar, violin),JayFoster (vocals, piano), MikeBrogee (bass, vocals), and AJFisico (drums, vocals) with Ryan Pritchard (guitar) solidifying the line up in early 2017. Each of the five members come from diverse musical backgrounds, ranging from jazz to rock to classical, but all share a common love for songwriting and performing.TheupcomingFebruary 15th2019release of their new album, Town, brings the dawn of a new chapterfor LRH. A recording session at The BathouseStudio near Kingston, Ontario with acclaimed Scottish producer and mixer, Tony Doogan (Belle & Sebastian, Wintersleep, Snow Patrol) brings about a refined and evolved sound for the band, reflective of their persistent drive to push themselves. The band started to gain momentum with the release of “From Seedlings to Saplings...”in 2016. Confront Magazine noted, the sound “strays from the guitar-drums-bass formula to incorporate violin and piano in every hook-laden song.” Over the last few years, touring hastaken them from the Maritimes to Manitoba, they’ve shared stages with Arkells, Matt Mays, Big Wreck, and delighted hometown crowds with month-long residencies at Toronto’s Dakota Tavern
The Honest Heart Collective
The Honest Heart Collective
Two brothers. A flicker of fire. An insatiable need to write together and an affinity for Irish whiskey. The Honest Heart Collective was born out of a no holds barred approach to putting the music first and a rotating cast of musicians made permanent.

Decked out in denim and ripped jeans, the Thunder Bay, Ontario natives are described as "passionate, spirited, feel-good, anthemic rock music" by Grant Lawrence of
CBC Radio 3. The songs that make up Liar's Club, the band's debut full-length album, are an exemplary showcase of The Honest Heart Collective's old-soul take on storytelling through music. The album was mixed and mastered by Greg Dunn (Gates, Prawn) of Moving Mountains. "It's raw, it's real, and even liberating. Much can be learned from the simplicity of the record, but also that great songs still take great musicians to write."

Ryan MacDonald explained that the premise behind the record stemmed from a time when it was "easier to lie than tell the truth and deal with it". Those struggles became words, and those words became songs. A passing moment on a city bus gave a man the perspective to take life day by day, minute by minute to a better place.

"They're a group that performs with the intensity and passion of a band trying to save the very soul of rock 'n roll itself," blogger Morgan Harris explains.

With Liar's Club, The Honest Heart Collective tell it like it is; sometimes a flicker of fire comes ablaze.
