The Brains
The Brains
More Brrraaaaaiiinnnsss!!!
Canada’s most insanest, undeadest and bestest psychobilly horror-punks are back with with their latest, greatest album to date.

The Brains has never been a band to follow the rules…in fact they’ve made it a point to utterly and completely destroy every single one of them with each album they release and every show they play. These hardworking road-warriors have brought their eye-popping live show to the four corners of the world; playing packed houses throughout Europe, Canada and the US alongside acts like Mad Sin, The Offspring, The Reverend Horton Heat, The Real McKenzies, The Creepshow and many more. A relentless tour schedule is in the works for 2013 that includes stops at CMW, PouzzaFest and The Pineda Psychobilly Meeting in Spain.

The Monster Within is an unholy collection of 14 mind-bendingly brain-melting tracks that will explode in your earholes like a hell-born volcano. The impossibly fast and unbelievably tight rhythm section of Pat Kadaver (skins) and Colin The Dead (stand up bass) threaten to push the limits of sanity and safety to the very edge… Rene D La Muerte’s (vox/gretsch) haunting croon sends shivers up the spines of even the most jaded listener while his signature guitar stylings fuse the rockabilly sounds of the 50’s with the intensity of an industrial chainsaw. The Brains continue to blur the lines between rockabilly, psycho, surf, punk and rock n’ roll; kicking down genre barriers and demanding undying loyalty at every show they play. Incorporating elements from whatever the hell they feel like, The Brains concoct an irresistable brew of Motorhead-esque ferocity and sexed up latin swagger while adding a pinch of rockabilly revival and a whole lot of booze-fueled punk rock mayhem.
Los Kung Fu Monkeys
Los Kung Fu Monkeys
Los Kung-Fu Monkeys are an eight-piece Punk & Ska Band out of Tijuana. Yes Tijuana! that infamous border town known for it's zebra-like spray painted donkeys, velvet paintings and a revolution. No not the street filled with clubs for tourist and hookers but the musical and art revolutionary movement now taking place in Tijuana. A movement that was spearheaded by the world renown and now defunct Tijuana No! which is now lead by the techno-banda DJ's the Nortec Collective, the eclectic Julietta Venegas and Los Kung-Fu Monkeys. Everyone thinks of Tijuana as a good place to party but that's not what Tijuana is really about, Not by a long shot, you don't need to look deep to find a gem like Los Kung-Fu Monkeys.

Drawing inspiration from US Punk & Ska bands such as the Voodoo Glow Skulls, Rancid, Suicide Machines, Sick Of It All, Youth Brigade, 7 Seconds, Bad Religion plus others and from the surroundings of their border town, Los Kung-Fu Monkeys have created a sound all their own which boast dual singers, killer bass riffs and a great horn section. Los KFM as they are also known consist of Bernie & Paco on vocals, Pakistani brothers Hassan (bass) & Tarek (guitar), Adrian on drums, Juan on keyboards and the horn section of Tony (sax) and Toño (trombone).

The band has been a familiar face in the TJ punk scene ever since they started back in 1998, but since their first release "Rebuilding The World" dropped in 2001 the band has played at some of the most important venues in So Cal and played with the likes of Union 13, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Buck O'Nine, Youth Brigade, Mad Caddies and legendary bands from Latin America such as Maldita Vecindad, Tijuana No!, Secta-Core, King Chango, Dos Minutos and many others. Apart from that they have toured Mexico four times playing at all the important cities like Monterrey, Chihuahua, Guadalajara, Mexico City plus smaller cities like Hermosillo, San Luis Potosi, Mazatlan and many others. Touring Mexico extensively is a feat that only bands with deep pockets have been able to do, but Los KFM have established such a loyal following that this has been possible for them.

With their new record "End Transmission" getting rave reviews and two of their biggest tours (Southwest Sept.28--Oct.17 & Mexico Feb.16--Mar.10) scheduled for this year Los Kung-Fu Monkeys are set to take over stages everywhere with their energetic live show. Oh and by the way they sing in English.
