George Canyon rose to fame as one of Canada’s top country music stars in the early 2000s, earning multiple Juno, CCMA, and ECMA awards, and releasing 12 albums, including the platinum-certified One Good Friend. A dedicated humanitarian and advocate, Canyon has been honored with the CCMA Humanitarian Award and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal for his support of the military and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. In addition to his music career, he has appeared in TV shows like Heartland and Trailer Park Boys, and released his memoir My Country in 2022.
